OpenPMF / RTI DDS / Promia Raven integration project
ObjectSecurity works with RTI and Promia on the integration of OpenPMF, RTI DDS, and Promia Raven as part of RTI's SBIR contract with the US Air Force, 14 February 2008. Read the announcement at rti.com or here. "RTI partner ObjectSecurity will also lend its significant experience in security management and network intrusion detection. Dr. Ulrich Lang, CEO of ObjectSecurity said, 'ObjectSecurity is delighted to work with RTI on this innovative project. The benefits of integrating our OpenPMF 2.0 model-driven security management technology with RTI Data Distribution Service and Promia IASM will include simplified management and improved cyber protection'.”
SOA & Model Driven Security Success Story with QientiQ
ObjectSecurity has carried out several successful project milestones with QinetiQ related to Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Model Driven Security (MDS), 28 February 2008. An official announcement was made in interface magazine Winter 20098 edition (read the article here). "Dr. Mark O'Dell, QinetiQ Trusted Information Management's R&D team says about the collaboration: 'ObjectSecurity supported QinetiQ's analysis of Service Oriented Architectures by providing a thorough and enlightening overview of the industry's history and best practice.'
Dr. Ulrich Lang, CEO and co-founder of ObjectSecurity Ltd. says: 'From our perspective, the collaboration with QinetiQ has been very successful and is still continuing informally. QinetiQ involved us at an SME-friendly short timeframe and with very little paperwork, and integrated our contributions well into the project. They also enabled us to make the case to MOD for model driven security, which we believe is the best approach for securing agile SOA environments'.
ObjectSecurity's other projects are ongoing. Highlights include air traffic control R&D as part of the SWIM-SUIT (System Wide Information Management SUpported by Innovative Technologies) project, our OpenPMF 2.0 - DDS integration, and a MICO migration project.

Our upcoming presentations:
"OMG standards for Model Driven Security - How can we secure SOA without losing agility?", OMG Technical Meeting
ObjectSecurity will attend the OMG technical meeting, Washington DC, USA, 10-14 March 2008. ObjectSecurity will hold a workshop session "OMG standards for Model Driven Security - How can we secure SOA without losing agility?" on Thursday 13 March 2008 at the Software Assurance group (SwA) at the OMG technical meeting, Washington DC, USA , 10-14 March 2008. A related presentation "A Model Driven Security approach for SOA" will also be presented on Tuesday 11 March 2008 at the SOA group. Abstract: ObjectSecurity discusses the need for OMG standards for Model Driven Security, and how SOA security must go beyond web services security. The core issue is how to specify and maintain consistent/effective security policies for *agile* SOA. This cannot be done manually (too complex/labor-intensive). New approaches such as Model Driven Security are needed. Session topics incl. security stove-piping, how to reduce cost/effort, architecture approaches, experiences, secure BPM SOA."
"How can we secure SOA without losing agility?" - RSA Conference 2008
ObjectSecurity will present a peer-to-peer session "How can we secure SOA without losing agility?" at the RSA Conference 2008, San Francisco, CA, USA, 7-11 April 2008. Abstract: In this Ask the Moderator session, ObjectSecurity discusses how SOA security must go beyond web services security. The core issue is how to specify and maintain consistent/effective security policies for *agile* SOA. This cannot be done manually (too complex/labor-intensive). New approaches such as Model Driven Security are needed. Session topics incl. security stove-piping, how to reduce cost/effort, architecture approaches, experiences, secure BPM SOA." “Rapid model-driven simulation/prototyping/testing of secure information sharing in distributed systems”, ITEC 2008
At ITEC 2008, Airport IT 2008, Stockholm, Sweden, 10-12 June 2008, ObjectSecurity will present “Rapid model-driven simulation/prototyping/testing of secure information sharing in distributed systems” at ITEC 2008, Stockholm, Sweden, 10-12 June 2008. Contact us to arrange a meeting.. Abstract: Collaborative decision making and situational awareness depend on secure information sharing. However, often the immediate benefits vs. risks are unclear to the different stakeholders, and they cannot imagine the resulting new/improved processes. Furthermore, lack of security is often a show-stopper. To solve this, we have developed an inexpensive, model-driven virtual reality rapid prototyping, simulation, and testing environment. Secure information sharing and security implications can be rapidly prototyped and tested. We show a visual airport crisis scenario running across a distributed IT environment and how it can be used to prototype, demonstrate, and test information sharing and security.
"Airport operations optimisation through agile, secure IT integration", Airport IT 2008 (at ILA Berlin)
ObjectSecurity will present "Airport operations optimisation through agile, secure IT integration, SESAR, SWIM-SUIT" together with Eamonn Cheverton, Enterprise Architect, BAA, London, UK at Airport IT 2008, Berlin, Germany, 28/29 May 2008. The presentation will cover the following topics:
