SecureMiddleware can also be hosted on our convenient and reliable one-stop-shop component server appliance. It has the complete SecureMiddleware CORBA Components environment pre-installed on an open source unix platform. All you need to do is deploy your application components using the deployment tool, and the rest will happen without any further work. You do not even need to think about the server installation - it is all in place automatically!

The SecureMiddleware appliance version has several benefits. First, it has the convenience of buying the entire solution from one vendor, rather than having to deal with separate software and hardware vendors. Second, an appliance solution is more robust because it is (optionally) maintained by ObjectSecurity. ObjectSecurity provides their appliance with several subscription plans that include options such as a 48h FedEx replacement service, remote administration and maintenance, upgrades etc.
