MICO implements the CORBA standard. Since its foundation in December 1996, MICO has become a mature, very stable, fully-compliant implementation of the CORBA standard.  ObjectSecurity provides technical support, as well as development and consulting services for MICO. MICO is the robust, secure CORBA ORB inside SecureMiddleware.

MICO is available as open source under the GNU-copyright notice and is widely used for different purposes (see our success stories). In June 1999, MICO has been branded as "CORBA compliant" by the OpenGroup, thus demonstrating that it is production grade software.

Over the years, ObjectSecurity has added many security features to MICO. Some of these are commercially available, while others have been integrated into the MICO code base.

ObjectSecurity provides technical support, as well as development, training and consulting services for MICO. ObjectSecurity is the official maintainer of the MICO project and the main contributor since 2000. ObjectSecurity's highly skilled specialists have many years of experience in R&D, consulting, and support in the areas of MICO, CORBA in general, CORBA security, CORBA Components (and security), and distributed systems. Therefore they are ideally suited for integrating MICO with your IT infrastructure and applications to produce a reliable, secure, and stable system.

Testimonial - MICO helped the Weather Channel to improve productivity

"The team tested the technology for six months, evaluated other open- and closed-source alternatives, and felt confident it would serve their needs. According to Shield [Weather Channel], the move to MICO paid off, and The Weather Channel experienced no downtime. The deployment lasted just a day as MICO was pushed to internal servers. It is still in production today, and more than 70 million Weather Channel consumers are able to receive information at any time of the day from host servers running open-source solutions." - source: Techworld.com, Feb 02, 06
